Thanks for stopping by and welcome to my blog. Officially my name is Kristen but everyone I know has called me Kristy since I can remember. I began this blog as a writing outlet for me since it’s a passion of mine. I was never certain of how to “label” my blog. Should I be a running blog? A healthy lifestyle blog? (The answer came to me when I was speaking to the talented Lauren who actually redesigned my blog for me. I’m in love with this design as it really represents me as a person.) She suggested that I market myself since I cover so many areas and topics of discussion. And so there it began. My contribution to the internet world is officially labeled a lifestyle blog.
I’ll be posting Monday through Friday. As mentioned, I cover many topics on this blog from day to day and the following are a few that you may see more frequently than others:
Running/Training/Racing: I got into running only a few years ago. A friend and I decided it would be fun to run the midnight run in Central Park on New Year’s Eve. That was in 2004. Little did I know at that time that running would become a permanent part of my life. I began taking speed training class and running a bunch of races including marathons. A few of my running goals include qualifying for the Boston Marathon and running a marathon in every state one day.
New York City: This is where I reside. I’ve worked in the city for a beauty company since the year 2000 and have lived in my quaint little shabby chic studio loft since the end of 2004. The city is still as exciting to me now as it was when I first moved here.
Goals: I live for goals. I love making lists and having a grand old time checking things off in the process. I create seasonal goals, running goals, writing goals, fun activity goals, and the list goes on. I always find a reason to throw together an exciting list of actions to embark upon.
Musings: There are days I simply want to touch on a topic and share thoughts, whatever they may be. Past posts have been about lifestyle changes, how I adore the actress Emma Stone and lessons learned from somebody in my life.
Other things I love:
- Training for triathlons almost as much as marathons
- Admiring those with excellent fashion sense
- Spending time with those I love
- Bright lipstick
- Fake fur shrugs
- Chandeliers
- Local beer
- Free yoga workshops
- Champagne and champagne brunches
- Great White Sharks
- The fantasy of surfing
- A vegetarian burrito
- Gossip Girl, Dexter, old episodes of The O.C.
- My Specialized bike
- Vegan treats
- Coffee in the morning
- Breakfast – my favorite meal of the day
- Reading books
I hope by discovering and sharing my experiences I’m able to inspire others in some way too.
